The Franklin Park Bobcats will open up Class L state baseball play this afternoon at Wesclin. You can listen to the game starting just before 4pm on Q92 and WJBDradio.com. The Bobcats are 13-0 and move on after defeating Carmi to win the regional crown last week. Wesclin is 8-5. The winner will advance to play in Centralia on Saturday morning at 10am against either Johnston City or Marion.
The other quarterfinals will see Benton at DuQuoin and Highland hosting Millstadt.
In Class M baseball, Rome is at Albion with the winner getting either Aviston or St Boniface, Edwardsville. The other quarterfinals include Goreville at Hardin County and Pinckneyville at Christopher.
In Class S Altamont Lutheran will host Cisne with the winner getting either Our Lady Mount Carmel or Cypress. The other games are Waltonville at TSJ Nashville and Valmeyer versus St Joseph Catholic.
In Class L softball state action today, Carlyle will host Triad with the winner getting either Red Bud or Murphysboro on Saturday in the semifinals. Hamilton County plays at Carmi and Marion is at Carterville.
In Class M Rome hosts NCOE with the winner playing either Nashville or Okawville. Crab Orchard is at Jonesboro and Thompsonville at Pinckneyville.
In Class S softball, Cypress is at Dongola, St Boniface at Coulterville, New Hope at Summersville and Elverado hosts Willow Grove/St Mary’s Centralia.
