A 28-year-old Centralia woman has been sentenced to six years in prison after entering an Alford Plea in Marion County Court to a reduced charge of robbery in connection with the murder of Clender Edmonds at a home on Green Street Road outside Centralia last December.

Darleedria ‘Bubbles’ Flippen of East Sixth had charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery dropped as part of the plea.   An Alford Plea means Flippen still denies guilt, but admits the prosecution has enough evidence to convict her.

In addition to the six-year prison term, Flippen will have to complete two years of parole and given credit for 300 days served in the Marion County Jail.

Flippen lived with Mantez Duncan of Centralia who was earlier found guilty of first-degree murder by a Marion County Jury and sentenced to 55 years in prison earlier this month.

Testimony at the trial indicated that Flippen left the Cardell Thomas home with the money that had been removed from Edmonds during an altercation.   She was later called by those at the house to search locations Edmonds had indicated additional money taken earlier from Duncan could be located.

When Flippen failed to produce any additional cash, Edmonds was shot to death and his body later burned outside the residence.

Testimony at Duncan’s trial indicated he was the triggerman.  Three others still await trial on first-degree murder charges.   They include Thomas, Krystal Scerba, and Blake Shahan.
