The SIJHSAA released its state baseball and softball brackets this weekend.
In Class L, the Franklin Park Bobcats will open up on Wednesday at Wesclin. Salem enters at 13-0 while Wesclin is 8-5.The game can be heard on Q92 and WJBDradio.com. The winner will play on Saturday at 10am against the winner of Johnston City and Marion. Also opening up on Wednesday will be Benton at DuQuoin and Millstadt at Highland.
In Class M, Goreville plays at Hardin County, Pinckneyville at Christopher, Rome at Albion and Aviston at St Boniface Edwardsville. Rome plays at state thanks to their 5-4 win over Patoka in Saturday’s regional title game.
In Class S, Our Lady Mt Carmel plays at Cypress, Altamont Lutheran will host the winner of today’s regional title game between Raccoon and Waltonville. TSJ Nashville will await the winner of Region 7 while St Joseph Catholic plays the winner from Region 5.
In Class L softball, Carlyle hosts Triad, Red Bud at Murphysboro, Hamilton County at Carmi and Marion plays at Carterville.
In Class M, Rome hosts NCOE, Nashville welcomes Okawville, Crab Orchard is at Jonesboro and Thompsonville is at Pinckneyville.
In Class S, Cypress plays at Dongola, St Boniface Edwardsville is at Coulterville, New Hope at Summersville and Willow Grove/St Mary’s Centralia is at Elverado.
