Kitchen of Centralia home damaged by fire

By News Oct 3, 2020 | 1:54 PM

The kitchen of a Centralia home was damaged in an early Saturday morning fire.

Centralia city firemen say the fire apparently started from a pan of grease left on the stove at the Jeff Slusher home at 10 Lilac Drive.  The fire had spread through the kitchen by the time the family noticed.   Everyone inside was able to get out safely before firemen arrived.

Firemen got a quick knockdown and confined the blaze to the kitchen.  The rest of the home sustained smoke damage.

The fire call came in at 4:23 Saturday morning.  Firemen cleared the scene at 5:45.  All available Centralia city firefighters were called out to help fight the fire.
