Centralia man arrested on new burglary warrant following foot chase

A 30-year-old Centralia man is being held in the Marion County Jail after being arrested on an outstanding warrant for burglary.

Bond on the warrant for Anthony Hays of South James is set at $150,000.

Hays is accused of taking items from a building on Brink Road in rural Sandoval in September.

A Centralia Police officer attempted to stop a car Hays was driving Wednesday night when he fled the vehicle on foot. He was apprehended a short distance away by Centralia Police with assistance from Wamac and Central City Police.
