Ann Torregrossa, 102, of Belleville, Illinois, passed away at 7:10 PM September 28, 2020 at Bradford Place Assisted Living in Swansea, Illinois. Mrs. Torregrossa enjoyed working along side her husband at their wholesale produce store. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon and she will be dearly missed.
A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2020 at 1:00 pm at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Father Joel Seipp officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials may be made in Ann’s honor to the Jefferson County Animal Shelter. Please remember to observe social distancing at this time. Ann is survived by her daughter, Patricia Torregrossa of Belleville, Illinois; granddaughter, Season Monroe and husband, Ethan; and great-granddaughter, Anna Monroe.
She was born February 8, 1918 in Beckemeyer, Illinois to the late Vincent and Anna (Balonis) Surma. Ann married Dominic Peter Torregrossa in 1934 and he preceded her in death on August 17, 1979. In addition to her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by her sons, Ron Torregrossa and Nicholas Torregrossa.
