2021 07/24 – Judith Kay Held

Judith Kay Held, 80 of Salem, Illinois passed away July 21, 2021 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital Mt. Vernon, IL. Judy loved to cook and bake. She also loved quilting, crafting and shopping. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Salem.

There will be a Celebration of Life service held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Salem with Dr. Andy DeWitt officiating. Private burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park, Aurora, IL at a later date. The family invite you to gather with them at the church from 12:00 O’clock Noon until the service hour at the church on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Salem and will be accepted by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, Salem, IL 62881 (618) 548-1234, entrusted with the family’s care.

Survivors include her children Debra Kaspar and husband Michael of Eads, TN, Michael Held and wife Marlene of Claxton, GA, and Jennifer Brink and husband Wayne of Shattuc, IL, along with grandchildren Kevin (Chloe) Kaspar and daughter Eleanor of Atlanta, GA, Jason (Tama) Kaspar and daughter Jane of Atlanta, GA, Steven (Anna) Kaspar of Memphis, TN, Zach Held and son Robert, Alex Held and Quintin Held, Amanda Brink and Nathan Brink. Also her sisters Mary Lou (Ron) Stallman of Elkhart, IN and Leah (John) Kewenig of Shorewood, IL.

She united in marriage with Paul M. “Mike” Held, August 15, 1960 in St. Joseph, MI and he preceded her in death January 25, 2019. Born July 13, 1941 in Aurora, IL, she was the daughter of Donald Rees and Esther Alice (Wilkison) Underwood. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Donald Underwood.
