David Owens, age 71 of Alma, passed away at his home on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. David worked at Ging & Co. Elevator in Farina for almost 25 years. He later worked for Doctor’s Nursing Home as a custodian.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at 6:00 pm at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem with Mark Copley officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm. David was born on December 27, 1949, in Centralia, the son of David and Katherine (Cole) Owens. He was raised by his uncle and aunt, Leck and Iris Logue. He married Christine Wooden on December 27, 1967, in Kinmundy and she survives in Alma.
In addition to his wife, Christine Owens, he is survived by four children, Willie Owens and wife Marissa of Salem, Robert Owens and wife Rhonda of Salem, Charles Owens and wife Donna of Alma, and Darlene Konkel and husband Jason of Herrin; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Dee Osterholtz and husband Monte of Kinmundy; brother, Charles Owens and wife Pat of Alma; brother-in-law, Lester Halterman of Kinmundy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; uncle and aunt; sister, Nancy Halterman; and grandchildren, Jordon Owens and Stephanie Owens.
