Mary Katherine Barr, 75, of Odin, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2021, at her home. She was the co-owner of Tom’s Service Station in Odin for 23 years and was a longtime 4-H member and leader, loyal St. Louis Cardinals Fan, and an avid hobbyist. Among her many talents, she crafted hats, sewed, crocheted, gardened, and held many unique collections.
A public visitation for Mrs. Barr will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Osborn Funeral Home in Dix. Funeral and Burial Services will be private. Memorial gifts may be made to the Odin Fire Department or Jefferson County Animal Shelter and will be received at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O. She was born November 26, 1945, in Centralia, the daughter of Samuel and Dorothy (Hicks) Jones. On February 3, 1966, at Hoots Chapel Church, she married Thomas A. Barr, and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2017.
Mary is survived by three daughters, Jeanie Barr Evans and husband Evan, and Sammie Neumeister and husband Brian, and Beth Milich and husband Pete; grandchildren, Trevor Eric Neumeister, Brianna Nicole Milich, and Peter Alexander Milich; brothers, David Jones and wife Becky of Odin, and Harold Jones and wife Diane of Mt. Vernon; brother-in-law, Russell “Bud” Barr; sister-in-law, Betty Mead; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends; and furry daughter, Dottie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Thomas Barr.
