A vacant Wamac home was heavily damaged in an early Sunday morning fire.

The home at 1212 Dover Street in Wamac was heavily involved with flames through the roof when firefighters arrived on the scene.

Fire Chief Ross Boshera says there was heavy fire damage throughout the home, with the fire going through the roof at the rear of the home.   The cause of the fire has not been determined.

It took firefighters about 45 minutes to bring the fire under control.  Boshera reported an extensive overhaul due to hoarding conditions, with firemen on the scene for about three and a half hours.

The home is owned by Marla Miller.

The original report indicated a shed was on fire.

The Centralia Fire Protection District received mutual aid from the Centralia City Fire Department and Sandoval Fire on the scene while Odin Firemen stood by at the Centralia Fire District Station in the event of another fire.
