A car parked in the driveway of a home in the 1200 block of South Hickory was destroyed by fire Saturday afternoon.
Centralia Fire officials say Carl Ellis had walked outside his home to find a fire in the backseat of the car. The blaze then spread before firemen arrived and engulfed the entire vehicle. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
Ellis was treated on the scene for minor smoke inhalation.
The car was close to the home but did ot become involved in the fire.
The alarm came in at 3:22 Saturday afternoon with firemen on the scene for about a half hour.
