A Saturday night fire destroyed a 20 by 20-foot shed and a vehicle parked outside.
Jefferson Fire says the State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire on the Carl Hardig Junior property in the 20-thousand block of North Miller Lane north of Mt. Vernon. Firemen say a van and pickup truck parked nearby were damaged by the fire.
Hardig was home and discovered the fire. There were no injuries.
Jefferson Fire called Kell, Mt. Vernon, Bluford, and Wayne City Firemen to the scene while Waltonville and Woodlawn stood by at the Jefferson Fire Station in the event of another fire.
The fire call came in at around 8 on Saturday night.
