The Salem Fire Protection District reports a pickup truck was destroyed by fire late Monday afternoon.
The truck owned by Steve McConnaughhay was parked near where he was farming in the 5900 block of Apple Ridge Road southeast of Salem when the engine caught fire. The vehicle was fully engulfed when firemen arrived.
There was a barn was about 50 feet away, but was never threatened.
The fire call came in around five Monday afternoon.
